The canvas we create upon...
The Universe we exist in is an ocean of energy, vibration and information, and our world is the blank canvas we create upon.
Energy is the paint on our palette with which we create.
At every moment our world holds the potential to become whatever we desire, choose and focus upon.
We paint our experiences...
We paint the experiences in our lives like an electron beam paints the image on the phosphor of an old-style TV screen.
In the TV picture tube, electrical charges FOCUS and DIRECT the electron beam to paint the screen.
Similarly, our beliefs, thoughts, and emotions direct our focus on the aspects of our world we give our attention to. In every moment we are painting our reality.
We can focus and direct our consciousness like a beam of sunlight
to feed flowers or weeds; wanted or unwanted.
The choice is ours, but few direct their attention deliberately. Instead they give their attention randomly to the noisiest, most lurid, sensational object in their field of view.

The Power of Choice…
You have a VAST amount of choice in how you approach every circumstance in your life.
The choices you make will determine what you EXPERIENCE and EXTRACT from each circumstance.
Here are some choices available to you…
- You have choice in what you GIVE your attention to.
- You have choice in what you THINK about what you observe.
- You have choice in how you FEEL about what you observe.
- You have choice in how you JUDGE and assess what you observe.
- You have choice in how you INTERPRET every circumstance.
- You have choice in how you FEEL about what you observe.
- You have choice in what you EXTRACT from each circumstance.
- You have choice in what you THINK about what you observe.
- You have choice in how you RESPOND in each circumstance.
In every moment you are flooded with more information than you can absorb and must choose what to focus on and what to ignore.
Just like deciding what food to allow into your body, you can decide what intellectual food you allow into your mind.
You don’t have to continue thinking as you were once taught.
Back then you may have lacked the awareness and intellectual capacity to think for yourself, but now you are an intelligent, autonomous adult who can think for yourself.
You don’t have to reflexively jump to the popular conditioned reaction.
Even if one point of view, story line or narrative is trendy, popular, widely promoted and accepted by the masses, you can still choose to consider broader information from multiple sources and perspectives and to THINK FOR YOURSELF.
Even if others are too lazy to think for themselves, take the easy route, follow the crowd and let others think for them…
YOU don’t have to.
Feeling is different than thinking…
While thinking comes from your intellect and physical mind, feeling comes from a much deeper place in your CORE and is a richer, more sensory experience. You think with your mind, but you feel with your gut and your heart.
Feelings are true…
What you “think” may or may not be true, but what you feel is always real and true for you in that moment. No genuine feeling is correct or incorrect. It just is.
Conscious or reflexive?
Feelings, like thoughts, can be based on a CONSCIOUS process happening in the moment or they can be REFLEXIVE regurgitation of something programmed into you in the past.
“That’s great.” “That’s horrible.” “That’s tragic.”
Who says?
By whose standards? According to popular opinion? Based on mass programming?
In every circumstance you have choice about how you feel about it.
Some will try to create the feeling THEY want you to have for their benefit before you’ve decided for yourself. For example, a commercial plays on the TV… “Ask your doctor if you’re at risk of bleeding eye syndrome.” Chances are your doctor has already been primed to recommend their pharmaceutical product. The advertiser wants you feeling vulnerable when they present their product or service as the solution.
Problem…Reaction…Solution…
The scam works like this…
1) create / identify / define the problem;
2) tell you how you should feel about and react to it;
3) present their self-serving solution.
It’s a widely used formula in advertising… and in governments.
Past programming will recreate the present…
If you ALLOW past programming to determine your feelings, you allow the past to AGAIN CREATE the same thing as was created previously and is now in your present. Nothing will change.
You can create something DIFFERENT than in the past by being a DELIBERATE creator rather than creating by DEFAULT.
Past programming Autopilot…
Few people understand this, and even fewer do it. Most just let past programming dictate their feelings and thereby re-create the same reality. Little changes because they just re-create more of the same.
They fly their life running on autopilot using a flight plan written by someone else.
Opportunities…
Are you taking full advantage of opportunities to deliberately choose how you feel?
Your answer to this question reveals whether you are CONSCIOUSLY creating your reality or letting someone or something else create it for you.
When you deliberately steer how you feel, you take charge of your life’s heading.
Everything can change because you become the architect of your reality…
past, present, and future.
Yes, even your view of the past can change when you re-frame the meaning of former events and their value to you.
You can change the way you feel about ANYTHING, and its VALUE to you will change as well.
You make assessments and judgments about everything you observe. Good, bad, wanted unwanted… you form an opinion about it all.
It’s trendy to say don’t judge, but judging is as natural as breathing.
Judging is a survival mechanism…
- Is that movement in the bushes caused by the breeze or a dangerous animal? You judge.
- Is that statement I just heard true? You judge.
- Do that person’s actions match their words? Can you believe their promises? You judge.
Judging is natural, but the criteria used, and the harshness applied is discretionary.
You can choose to judge with an open mind, empathy, and compassion.
Who wrote your scorecard?
Where does the basis for your judgments and assessments come from?
Are they being made consciously in the present by the person YOU are TODAY, or reflexively based on past programming loaded into you by ANOTHER, based on their judgments made by who THEY were and what THEY understood back THEN?
Are YOU making assessments in your life, or letting someone or something ELSE make them for you?
How you assess, determines what you extract…
Are you quick to judge an event as something terrible that went wrong, or rather as something wonderful that brings opportunities?
Even if circumstances surprise or unsettle you,
can you find SOMETHING of value in them that in SOME way benefits you?
How you assess and judge determines the MEANING of the circumstance to you…
You can choose to find the POSITIVE aspects or the NEGATIVE aspects.
Whichever you seek, you will surely find, and will affect the reality you create,
the experience you have, and what you take away.
Are you willing to let this happen using another’s scorecard or your own?
The choice is yours.
Meaning and relevance…
Whereas assessing and judging assigns qualities to a subject or circumstance, INTERPRETING applies meaning and relevance to you.
Why this, now?
There’s a tendency to judge and think “That’s terrible what THEY do,” but a more USEFUL thought might be “In what way do I do that?”
If something is in your experience it means it has some RELEVANCE to you.
- Why is this thing here in my experience right now?
- What is the message?
- How is this relevant to me and my life?
- What insight is here to be gained?
- What is this situation showing me about MYSELF and my life?
- What insight is here to be gained?
- How is this relevant to me and my life?
- What is the message?
Can you DECODE what it is?
You get to decide what you extract from every circumstance…
You decide how to frame it, or re-frame it.
What genre of story are you producing?
You can frame each circumstance as…
a tragedy, or a comedy,
an adventure, or a plot twist,
an exciting turn of events, or a revelation, or an epiphany.
You can see yourself as the victim or the HERO, terrified coward, or brave EXPLORER.
You decide.
You have full creative control…
You choose your interpretation and decide the meaning you extract and take away from each life experience.
How you REACT and how you RESPOND are two different things…
- Reaction is reflexive. Response is deliberate.
- Reaction is past programming taking control. Response is YOU taking control.
- Reaction is letting the past recreate for you. Response is deliberately creating anew.
- Reaction is sameness and status quo. Response is change and opportunity.
- Reaction is stagnation. Response is growth.
- Reaction shows immaturity. Response reveals maturity and mastery.
You get to choose.
Every circumstance can serve you...
if you DECLARE IT MUST…
Appreciate, and find benefit in, ALL experiences. When you decide there IS something of benefit in every circumstance, there WILL be.
If you DECIDE to find what it is, you CAN discover it.
If you choose to EXTRACT the relevant meaning, you can BENEFIT.
If the circumstance is unpleasant or unwanted, finding the message and the meaning in it will release it to leave sooner. Once you have extracted the gift, it can disappear.
If it remains, or recurs, there is more of value to be discovered.
Once you find the “PEARL” in the “poop,” you can flush any unpleasantness away or simply leave it behind and move on.
Everything is neutral...
until you give it meaning…
An empty container…
Every situation is an empty container until you pour your belief into it and give it the meaning to decide. Nothing has any absolute meaning until you endow it with the meaning YOU project onto it based on YOUR beliefs.
Definitions are arbitrary…
The definition as to whether something is good or bad, right, or wrong, wanted, or unwanted, is essentially arbitrary. Although your culture and environment will coach, prime, and tell you how to interpret and respond, all meaning is ultimately assigned by you.
Are these declarations being made based on prior programming you received and internalized, or your own definitions and decisions?
You may tend to decide the meaning of a thing based on your upbringing, your culture, your society, but all these are just learned conventions. Many of them would be seen differently in another culture or situation.
Is murder wrong? How about during wartime battle or in self defence?
Torture? What about if the information gained through it prevents the suffering of millions?
Are murder and torture wrong when done to humans, but OK when done to other animals?
Views change...
depending on standards and interpretation…
The point is our views often change depending on the circumstances. We bestow meaning based on context and programming, so meaning is arbitrary and neutral. It is in the eye of the beholder.
In one circumstance murder warrants a hangman’s noose: in another, a wartime medal.
Drinking alcohol is a crime in one society but widely accepted in another.
Are these practices inherently right of wrong, or just arbitrary and neutral until a culture declares them one way or another?
Similarly, events in your life are neutral and open to interpretation depending on culture and upbringing, but also on YOUR PERSPECTIVE.
Changing your understanding, changing your perspective, changing your beliefs, changing your definitions, changes your interpretation and your experience. How you think about them, how you frame them, how you define them is what matters to their meaning to you.
The concept is equally valid for situations in the past, present or future.
Ultimately, YOUR interpretation of YOUR life and everything in it is entirely within YOUR control.
Value in every circumstance…
Accepting this notion empowers you to find something of value in every circumstance.
- Isn’t finding something of value better than finding nothing of value?
- Isn’t clarity valuable, even if it’s clarity about what you don’t want?
- Doesn’t clarity on what you DON’T want help clarify what you DO want?
Assign your own meaning and extract your own value…
If you accept that everything is neutral, you can assign your own meanings and extract something of value from everything.
You are accountable...
for your states and circumstances…
You have complete responsibility and accountability for your energetic, emotional, and physical states, as well as the ability to change them if you choose.
No one else is ever to blame…
You are responsible for your own reality, how you experience it, how you interpret it, and what you do, or do not, gain from it.
Regardless of the circumstances, you are the owner of your RESPONSE to them and the STATE OF BEING you cultivate in the face of them.
While it may be so for a child, for an ADULT there is no such thing as “He MADE me mad.” His actions occurred; your response was to get angry. That was your choice, and you could have responded differently.
The fact you chose to cultivate anger, and the underlying reasons for this choice, are what’s relevant.
Did the situation arouse in you feelings of powerlessness, injustice, fear of loss, disrespect, being ignored, desperation to have your needs met, overwhelm, loss of control?
The underlying feelings and the beliefs they are founded upon, whether true of false, is what matters most.
Circumstances don’t matter...
only State of Being matters…
Any circumstance is subject to your interpretation, categorization, and declaration.
The CIRCUMSTANCE is NOT the issue. It is your interpretation and response to the circumstance that REVEALS your beliefs and state of being.
What do these beliefs reveal? Are they even true?
- Change your definitions
- Change your interpretation
- Change the value assigned to the experience
- Change your state of being...
- Change the value assigned to the experience
- Change your interpretation
…and you change the CLARITY and UNDERSTANDING that results from the experience.
CONCEPT 2: Everything is a reflection...
This is where it gets weird…
Anything in CONCEPT 1 above could play as part of a Power of Positive Thinking seminar but here is where things become more esoteric, so hang on.
Everything is a mirror…
Everything you experience is feedback regarding your state of being.
The experiences that show up in the reality you create provide VALUABLE FEEDBACK about the frequency you are vibrating.
Physical reality makes VISIBLE your internal psychic
and emotional LANDSCAPE.
This can be a huge benefit since once aware, you can change what you don’t prefer.
Everything is a projection...
Everything is a reflection…
The world each of us perceives around us is the screen upon which we project our vibration, and reflects that which we are, but which we might not otherwise see.
Everything you experience reflects your past and current vibration.
The response you choose to your present experience affects both your current vibration and your future experiences.
Your vibration can also be shown to you through the behaviour of those around you.
They can reflect back to you what you are radiating.
Animals out-picture emotions…
Animals around you can also reflect some of what is going on in you. They often out-picture your vibration, emotions and behaviours to make them visible and enable you to address them.
Animals also have their own intelligence and can communicate both verbally and non-verbally with us.
What are the animals around you trying to tell you?
Your vomiting cat?
What is it you can’t stomach or are having problems digesting?
Your hyperactive dog?
In what way are you frantic, stressed and tearing around destructively?
Synchronicity...
Synchronicity is timely alignment and meshing of interacting components to mutual benefit as part of a larger system. It is balanced, reciprocal, harmonious, complementary interplay.
Synchronicity is evidence that you are “on path,”
a superconductive path.
It is evidence that you are “in the zone,” “connecting on the sweet spot,” and exactly WHEN and WHERE and with WHOM you want to be, for greatest CLARITY and GROWTH, as seen from your higher perspective.
You may not fully see the benefit in that moment. It may become more apparent in future looking back, when the alignment of connected dots is more obvious.
Consider some of the most impactful, challenging, and difficult situations and circumstances in your life, then consider the importance they played in helping you grow into the fullness of who you are today.
Were they challenging and difficult, or growth-provoking and empowering. Would you be the same person today without them?
Shall you curse them; or appreciate them?
Personality determines...
personal reality…
Who you are is reflected back to you in the world around you.
Who you ARE, and how you SEE the world, determines the world you EXPERIENCE.
Your perceived reality is your own personal subjective creation...
Every person’s perception of their reality truly is their own subjective creation. Even though it may contain elements that are common with others it is YOUR INTERPRETATION of them that decides what they mean to you.
FIRST… from the amorphous soup of possibilities, you focus on and extract the elements that match the expectations, beliefs, and emotions that YOU want to AMPLIFY. You can use them to validate, confirm, and substantiate the view of the situation you wish to promote.
WHAT you see is less important than HOW you see it.
SECOND… you SEEK what you expect to find, thereby filtering out spurious elements until you find those that VALIDATE your expectations.
THIRD… you observe what is reflected to you and what you are already PRIMED for and super-sensitive to.
You COLOUR the experience you are viewing
through your own tinted lens.
As a result of these mechanisms, you validate your NEXT frame of reality through the beliefs and expectations about your CURRENT reality, thus assigning substance and truth to it. In this way, your reality becomes a CIRCULAR echo chamber, producing what you believe and expect, which creates your next reality.
This is a SELF-REINFORCING CYCLE.
You create each reality, even if you do so unconsciously.
CONCEPT 3: We create through focus
and emotions…
The mind is the builder…
We each create our own reality and shape our experiences through our thoughts, beliefs, feelings, emotions, expectations, and past experiences, as well as through our INtentions, our ATtention, and the sheer power of our mental FOCUS.
What you give your thoughts and emotions to,
eventually appears in your experience.
Pleasant or unpleasant, wanted, or unwanted, whatever we focus on is FED and NURTURED by our attention to it, just as surely as directing sunlight, water and fertilizer on a weed or a flower determines which grows and which withers and disappears.
Usually, this creative process OCCURS by DEFAULT through unfocused, unintentional thoughts and emotions directed by outside influences.
However, by being DELIBERATE with your thoughts and emotions, you can control and DIRECT the experiences that MANIFEST your reality.
Expectations...
We look for what we expect to find...
Through the act of focusing on what we choose, and by making judgments about what we see, we set expectations about what is LIKELY to unfold.
We attempt to PREDICT what will happen based on what has happened
in similar circumstances based on past experiences.
This seems reasonable and is the essence of how we learn and survive.
But what if these expectations are coloured, distorted, and SKEWED by outside influences or your OWN beliefs?
Who sets your expectations?
Are you autonomous in setting your expectations or
are they being influenced by OUTSIDE FORCES?
To what degree are you even AWARE of this influence? To what degree does exaggeration and hyperbole and fear-mongering factor into your expectations?
Do you consider and understand the MOTIVATIONS
of those who seek to SKEW your expectations?
What is THEIR agenda?
Everyone is (understandably) concerned primarily with their own wellbeing and has preferences on how they would like your interaction with them to play out.
Perhaps they want you to AGREE with them; to SUPPORT their “cause” or project?
Maybe they want your HELP; perhaps they want you to SURRENDER something you have and hand it over to them?
Perhaps they want your APPROVAL? Maybe they want you to BUY whatever product, service or ideology they are selling?
Expectations drive experiences...
We LOOK for evidence to fulfill, validate and confirm our expectations.
This is true for POSITIVE as well as NEGATIVE expectations.
We STRIVE to interpret and categorize information and observations to make them FIT our expectations.
We EXTRACT from the broadcast the specific signal we SEEK, then AMPLIFY it disproportionately while attenuating or dismissing unwanted portions as irrelevant, meaningless noise.
In summation: “I knew it!” “See? I told you so!”
Expectations are self fulfilling…
It’s a CIRCULAR CYCLE… past experiences and BELIEFS set expectations, which shift focus to the aspects we expect to find. Then we find something to serve as EVIDENCE we can amplify to CONFIRM we were CORRECT in our expectations.
Next time, next situation… SAME approach, SAME results, which REINFORCES underlying beliefs and SOLIDIFIES and CEMENTS the cycle.
“That’s just the way it is,” we convince ourselves, and because of our convictions, that is the way it REMAINS…
because THAT is the way we KEEP it from changing.
Focus shapes matter
and experiences...
It’s that simple and has been scientifically proven.
- Everybody is creating their own experiences, but few realize it or do so consciously, purposefully, or deliberately.
- Most do not understand their sloppy thinking and undisciplined focus is what’s driving the bus.
- Many people blame everyone and everything else, rather than take responsibility, ownership and control of their own experiences and lives.
In every instant you are presented with more sensory inputs than you can simultaneously process, therefore you must SELECT what to focus upon.
How is the choice of what to focus on typically made?
The EGO focuses on whatever seems the biggest threat.
Advertisers, and others who want to control you, know this well. To cut through the clutter, ANYTHING that can be, is presented as a threat to your safety… and it just so happens they have a solution to SELL you.
Preserving personal SAFETY has become the primary means to get your attention and to motivate and frighten you.
Safety has been deemed paramount… above maintaining a balanced perspective… above reason… above intelligent thought… above common sense… and even above FREEDOM.
Anyone who DARES question the populist notion of “safety first” is scorned and ridiculed.
Safety first is honoured as responsible,
whereas FREEDOM FIRST is considered selfish.
But truly...
We CAME here to be FREE…
You didn’t come to an amusement park to sit on a bench and watch.
Life is NOT a spectator sport.
You CHOSE to project a portion of your consciousness into this space/time physical reality to explore, to experience, to grow, to expand and to have fun in the process.
ALL these require FREEDOM… not freedom to hurt or harm or exploit another, but freedom to BE the fullest version of your true self, to be curious, to be creative, and to be bold.
You did not come to be frightened, play small and be “safe”
but rather to engage, participate and contribute.
Playing it safe can be the riskiest thing you can do because you
MISS OUT on the very opportunities you came for.
You did NOT come here to be safe…
…YOU CAME HERE TO BE FREE.
CONCEPT 4: Law of Attraction
Law of Attraction – like draws like…
We create, render visible and rendezvous with those elements that MATCH our vibration. Law of Attraction (LoA) is the organizing mechanism that coordinates all our interactions.
- Like draws like…
- What you put out is what you get back…
- You cannot see something that is not a vibrational match to you.
- What you put out is what you get back…
Whether you believe it or not, LoA just is. It’s the way the Universe works.
You get what you think about...
You don’t always get what you want, but rather you get what you…
- believe,
- expect,
- think about,
- talk about,
- focus on.
- talk about,
- think about,
- expect,
What you give your thought and emotional energy to, eventually appears in your experience in one form or another.
You are the writer, director, actor, and producer of your own life story.
What you put out...
is what you get back…
That which you vibrate, radiate, embody, exemplify, project, and exude is what you ATTRACT.
The signal you broadcast magnetically draws to you
what is available in your vicinity that matches it.
Furthermore, based on your expectations, you will be looking for what you expect to show up.
You will try to interpret, see in, and draw from your experience the elements you expect them to contain.
Sometimes this requires twisting and forcing a situation to make it into what you expect (and want) it to be. It’s like bashing a square peg into a round hole to make the situation fit your expectations.
You are both the projector, TRANSMITTING what you are vibrating, as well as the filter, lens and the camera VIEWING, interpreting, judging, and categorizing that which you have DRAWN to yourself.
It is ALL about you.
It is ALL within your control and the experience of it is both your CREATION and your INTERPRETATION.
It is a feedback loop that most are unaware of, but all can interpret and MODULATE.
You attract and rendezvous...
with that which matches you...
- Happy people attract and rendezvous with other happy people…
- Complainers with other complainers…
- Crooks with crooks, or with victims…
- Kind people with other kind people…
- Depressed people with others who are depressed…
- Crooks with crooks, or with victims…
- Successful with other successful…
- Complainers with other complainers…
- Generous loving people with others like them.
You get the idea...
You draw from others...
what is within you…
Every outward experience and the behaviour you elicit from every person, wanted or unwanted, is FEEDBACK, an expression / reflection of your inner state.
This includes stubbing your toe, getting cut off in traffic and drawing out of a person the temperament and behaviour you have been expecting.
Ever wonder why some people seem nicer to others than they do to you?
- Could it be THEIR negative expectations of you based on your past interactions?
- Could it be YOUR negative expectations of them, and the fact you’re just LOOKING for the behaviour that you’re SURE they are going to present to you.
OR, is there something in YOUR vibration that CALLS this behaviour out of them, DRAWS from them comments or actions they don’t ordinarily make, but DO in your presence for some reason.
What do YOU bring to the table?
- Pessimism?
- Cynicism?
- Defeatism?
- Cynicism?
- Gloominess?
- Low expectations?
- “I-told-you-so” satisfaction when negative expectations show up?
- Low expectations?
Do you see yourself victimized and unfairly treated yet again?
OR,
do you bring a better, more optimistic, positive, can-do, cheerful version of yourself and SEE what turns up to meet you?
Bringing yourself with you...
Ever changed jobs, cities, relationship partners only
to see the SAME old PATTERNS repeat?
Even though you change circumstances and run from what you’d like to leave behind, you still bring YOURSELF with you.
Change YOURSELF first, then watch the reflection
TRANSFORM around you to match.
When you TRULY understand that YOU create your reality…
..the responsibility, the accountability, and the POWER…
…to CHOOSE, FOCUS, CREATE and TRANSFORM…
…ALL lie with YOU.
Everything is a Co-creation…
NOTHING is random or occurs in isolation.
There is a causal mechanism behind all things, and the dance you do on this time/space dance floor involves many others who YOU benefit from and who benefit from YOU.
Sometimes that which you consider
your greatest NEMESIS is your greatest EXPONENT of growth, change and transformation.
While interactions involve many others, your INTERPRETATION of them is uniquely yours, and so the reality you create within your own awareness is UNIQUE to YOU, just as everyone else’s awareness and reality is UNIQUE to THEM.
The power of Deliberate Creation…
You have the power to be a deliberate, conscious CREATOR.
Changing the FREQUENCY you tune to, and which you broadcast, will CHANGE your experience and your REALITY.
Life can be a THRILL RIDE or a wreck, depending on whether you unconsciously drift or PURPOSELY STEER.
The choice is yours.
